October 29, 2015: Fun While It Lasted

Well, until Thursday night, Chicago teams were perfect since the Cubs got knocked out. That definitely helps in the recovery process, although honestly it hasn’t been that bad.

Blackhawks were on a three game winning streak. A win over the Panthers was followed by two consecutive 1-0 OT winners over the Bolts and the Ducks. Bravo Crawford and bravo Toews. Some great goaltending coupled with some clutch goals, the first two of the season, from the Captain. It all ended last night though. The Jets took care of the Hawks and ended their short winning streak. That coupled with the Bulls start to their season, gave us 5 in a row.

Very nice start for the Bulls. Knocking out the Cavs in game one was sweet. Following that up with a road victory in Brooklyn wasn’t too shabby either. It is the Nets though. Still, 2-0 is 2-0. Start building the Hoiberg statue now. Haha. We’ve seen this before though. We’ve seen great regular seasons, not that 2 wins means that, it’s just that..it’s going to take more than that for me to jump aboard the Hoiberg bandwagon. I’m already on it technically, because he is the Bulls coach and I want him to do good. I’d just rather hold off on naming him coach of the year, while being happy about Thibs being gone. So far so good. We got Detroit on the road next.

Coming off a bye week, they didn’t contribute to the winning streak that was, but at least they didn’t add a loss to it…yet. Back to the Bears game previews on Friday next.

It’s all good though. The streak was fun while it lasted. So was the Cubs season. I’m almost ready to discuss the offseason, and actually have been checking in on the world series. I’m feeling very optimistic about the Cubs chances going forward, but that will have to take a back seat for now, until the spring when it will soar to the forefront yet again.

I’m glad we have multiple teams to root for, represented across each sport. I’m glad to have 4 teams that I love.  Settling in now for the 3 sports season that is fall in Chicago. Its time to talk some Bears now; 2015 Bears that is.
