October 27, 2015: The First One Percent

Did you catch that Bulls game yesterday?  Yeah, the season opener against the Cavs.  It was a pretty damn good game.

I didn’t watch it live, but I did record it.  Since my wife was in school, I figured she’d want to watch when she came home, and we could watch together; we did, commercial free.  I didn’t check the final score, or get any texts, so I was good.  I didn’t exactly know what to expect as we rolled down the stretch.

I was happy to see Gasol swat Lebron’s shot away, and then Jimmy Buckets steal the last inbound pass to preserve a Bulls victory.  So how did you like the new Bulls?

Was there really much difference?  I noticed some things.  I noticed a lot more shots getting chucked up… a lot more one on one basketball.  The number of assists the Bulls had last night, which at one point late in the game was 10, which was half of the Cavs total, was evidence to that.  I remember the Bulls always being near the top of the league in baskets assisted on.  The big question was the defense; would it be the same as under Thibs?  Considering this was the first game of the season, and everybody is shaking off some rust, the jury is definitely still out on that one, however, the end result was a good one, and that’s all that really counts.  I did notice something else.

Beyond that, Panax Ginseng has been proven safe, effective and durable in clinical studies conducted over a five-year period at many leading medical institutions online cialis australia across the world. buy levitra online http://deeprootsmag.org/2013/01/15/dietrich-deneuve-garbo-gardot/ This took place when experts basically assessed sildenafil, which was an active substance in the form of tablets, gel, soft tabs and also chewable form. I noticed that everybody played.  I always thought the Bulls had a lot of depth.  If there was one thing I didn’t like about Thibs, that was the fact he didn’t play everybody.  I don’t mind riding your key guys down the stretch, or in big moments in big games, but throughout each game, throughout the 82 game regular season, it’s good to use all your guys… as long as you can still be successful doing so.  Some teams don’t have that luxury, but I always thought the Bulls had a decent roster, contrary to what some may have said.  I like that.  I wasn’t all in on Tony Snell starting, but I like seeing him get more minutes.  I’m OK with Niko starting, and the guys that we have coming off the bench, are pretty damn solid.  Bottom line, we have options.  We can go small, we can go big.  It looks like Hoiberg will explore all those options, and I like that in him.

Beating Lebron in the regular season wasn’t something new.  The Bulls, undermanned or not, have regularly beat Lebron’s teams in the regular season over the years, so it’s not like this was such a great accomplishment.  Yet, it was a hell of a way to start the new regime.  Maybe I was still bitter that they let Thibs go, but I could be forgetting about that pretty quickly.  It’s basically the same team… same veterans, some young guys, and now we’ll get to see them all.

OK, it wouldn’t be me if I couldn’t take a shot at Lebron.  Really, first game, national TV, and you’re laying down on the floor because of your back… showing everybody in the world that, hey, I can play through an injury.  What a fricking actor.  So maybe he was a little hurt, but he plays it up to the max… he wants everybody to know he’s not 100%… he wants you to love him for playing through it.  He just seems to try a little to hard to gain everybody’s love.  Hey, there’s people who love you Lebron, and there’s people who hate you… you won’t change that buddy.  But if this continues on, and is like an every game thing… him lying on the floor during games… the games he’ll actually play in, and not sit out… come on.  How old is this guy anyways?  I’m always happy to take a shot at LBJ and a little extra happy to hand him a loss, now only if we can do it when it counts.

After all, this is only the first one percent…. only 1 game out of 82.  Results were great, but let’s get ready for the long haul.  Let’s try to win consistently during the regular season like we have.  Let’s try to win in the playoffs like we have.  Let’s try to beat Lebron and go to the NBA finals and win the NBA finals, like we haven’t in 18 years.  That’s where we’ll see the difference.  That’s where we’ll see if it was all worth it.  I’d argue Thibs wasn’t the problem, but I’m hoping to be proven wrong.  I’m behind you Hoiberg.  Let’s go Bulls.
