September 30, 2015: Avoiding Buzz Kill

posted in: Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, White Sox | 2

When things are going well, there’s always something… always something trying to kill your buzz.  There’s no shortage of that when it comes to Chicago sports.

Right now, I’m flying high with the Cubs.  There’s really nothing that can bring me down, but they’re trying…

The Patrick Kane case.  What the heck is going on there?  Now there’s mishandled evidence?  The whole thing has become a sick joke, and these latest developments haven’t swayed me to think he’s innocent, that’s for sure.  Maybe he is… hopefully he is… but at this point, it’s skepticism across the board.  Now the Blackhawks have to deal with this circus throughout the season?  As if trying to repeat isn’t hard enough… does Patrick Kane stay a Blackhawk?  Obviously, this team can battle through adversity, but now this?  And if they move him, tell me how that helps us on the ice?  A bad situation that we can only hope lessens as the season goes on.

On to his neighbor in the Trump Towers Derrick Rose.  I think the accusation against him is a lot less believable than the one against Kane, but… did you see what this guy said now?  He started making comments about his free agency in 2 years.  He’s talking about making sure his family is comfortable… huh?  You mean 100 million bucks so far doesn’t do that Derrick?  Who’s managing your money… Yeah, that guy driving the Bentley.  100 million dollars isn’t enough to live on and support your family… forever!  But you want to talk free agency 2 years before it happens, and you haven’t even been on the court for an entire season in God knows how long?  Yeah, maybe that elbow you took in practice today was coming.  Yes, and now we have another injury… with a fractured orbital bone, he’ll miss about a month.  Snake bitten?  Maybe, but it’s getting flat out ridiculous at this point.  Just shut your damn mouth, and play basketball.  Stay on the court, stay healthy, and win something for your and my hometown Chicago Bulls will you?  Or maybe he needs to be shipped out too?  Kane and Rose both traded?  That would be something…

And then there’s the Sox… oh wait, I really don’t care about them, but since I mentioned it.  What a horrible season.  I predicted them to have a better record than the Cubs this year!  Yes, this Cubs fan…  yeah, bad, bad year.  But they already have their World Series championship…

The Bears are another story.  Has the fire sale begun?  Jared Allen, gone.  Good riddance by the way.  He’ll go down as one of the worst free agent signings in Chicago history.  What a joke… won’t miss him for one second.  Jonathan Bostic… gone.  Thought he was pretty decent, and so did the team that traded for him I guess…  yeah, that team that doesn’t know how to evaluate talent, and hasn’t won anything, the New England Patriots.  Bostic will be an all pro soon…  Shane Vereen, cut.  OK, so that’s not too big a deal, but still.  Dumping players left and right after week 3?  I’ll tell you this, if we can’t beat the Raiders at home this week, and yes, I know they’re 2-1 but they’re still the Raiders, we’re dead.  Might as well dump some more, and line up that high draft pick.  It’s the Theo Epstein firesale, rebuild, contend in 4-5 years project; follow the script Pace.

And that brings us back to the Cubbies… another walk-off win last night on Denorfia’s home run.  Awesome.  They are awesome.  Focus, focus… block out all this other BS, and focus on the Cubs and the playoffs.  This is what it’s all about right now.  Yes, after all is said and done, it’s not THAT hard avoiding buzz kill, because there is only one team who can do that, and that’s the Cubs… if/when that happens, then everything will seem much, much worse.  Until that day, and maybe that day doesn’t come…maybe this is the year, and then everything else doesn’t matter, but until that day, we keep hope alive.  Focus is squarely on next Wednesday, October 7th in Pittsburgh.  That’s what it’s about.

No mishandled evidence…a hoax by girl’s momma and maybe her, too. Either way, this case is ridiculous…taking so long what? Bhawks in a week…defend time!

Drose is an idiot! Ive had about enough of his dumb ass. All he can do for me right now is be on the court and win. Stop talking, start playing, and just win baby!

Sorry Al and raider nation, that saying was just for you but not enough to beat our lowly Bears! You guys are still the same old silver and black, and that will be seen this weekend as the Bears make fools out of you and bring the nation crashing back down. As far as all the Bears’ moves, I applaud them. If these guys are not producing or part of the solution, get their asses out of here. Should have never went to jared! Bostic seemed ok but who really knows, and vereen a busted draft pick. Keep making moves to get this team where it needs to be. It might not be immediate, but it can happen!

Cubs ended the regular season at Wrigley in style…so many great memories so far! Keep making more…Wrigley is not done this year!
    GO CUBS GO!!!
