August 2, 2015: Sweeping the Lowly

posted in: Cubs, White Sox | 1

The 4 game sweep was completed on Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee.  The Sox recently had a 4 game sweep of their own. Although both impressive, both of these teams are currently in the basement of their respective divisions.

So what?  It’s hard to sweep any team, even some bad teams like the brew crew and tribe. That’s what you’re supposed to do to bad teams…beat them to a pulp. That’s what we did.

I loved every minute of this one. Not a big Brewers fan. I liked yount, molitor, and that early to mid 80s team..who didn’t. But this current vintage is pitiful. It starts with their star player…the guy whose jersey everybody is wearing… The cheater. He’s about all they got now. Him and the sausage races, and the games against the Cubs which are the only ones they’ll sell out all year.  They’re where they belong.

The Indians were supposed to be decent. They have some talent with a solid manager, but it’s been bad. You know it’s been bad when the sox pass you in the standings… They faced a real team this weekend and got handled.

That’s what the Cubs will face this week.  Heading into Pittsburgh will be a challenge. Will they be up for it?  They took 6 of 7 from the Rockies and Brewers.  Let’s see them do that against the Pirates and Giants.  Lester and Arrieta to start the week is where you want to be.  Time to step it up.

The sox are still only 3.5 games out of the wild card, which is remarkable.  They still have as good a chance as any.  It was the Shark who got shelled today at the Cell.  Maybe the NL suits him better after all.  I’m sure the Sox could have got something for him.  Quintana will start the series against the rays, one which the Sox should win.

Both teams were good at sweeping the lowly this past week.  The Sox faltered against the Yanks, while the Cubs start their biggest week of the season thus far.  Care to sweep one of these teams?

Very sWeet to see the Cubs sWeep the loWly breWers…like that, 4 Ws and 5 in a row! The biggest week of the year thus far without a doubt for the Cubs. Time to stay hot and keep the Ws rolling. Lester and Arrieta need to lead the way as they will both pitch against the bucs and dwarfs…time to open some room in the wild card standings. Take all 7 boys and have a 12 game win streak…unrealistic, maybe, but just win each series is the bottom line. Our aces take the hill…take the 1st two and dont look back!
    GO CUBS GO!!!
