March 30, 2025: Currently Current

It feels good. I’m sitting here on Sunday night writing my Sunday blog entry; it’s been a while. For tonight, once I hit publish, I will be currently current. Like I said, it feels good.

I’ve debated calling it quits, again; it goes through my head every now and then. I had some issues with an unauthorized payment coming out of my PayPal account for my website renewal; we got that settled. My web hosting company was bought out; I don’t get the service I need… I don’t need much. Just renewed my domain; need to backup my website. You know I’ve written almost 4,000 blogs?!?! It’s kind of crazy.

We’re still here. Going strong? Going. To finally write on the day we’re on… used to happen pretty regularly. Not sure if I will even stay current tomorrow, but it doesn’t matter; it’s all about tonight. Yes, it’s about today, tonight, and sure, a little bit about the future; always have to keep one eye looking ahead, but more importantly, live in the present… be present… enjoy the moment; you don’t know when this will be your last. A year ago today was the last time I saw my mother alive… Time flies when you’re having fun, or so they say; this year has flown by in a totally different way. With every day feeling like a grind, it’s amazing that it’s been a year that has gone by quicker than any other one. Just crazy… but back to my bread and butter.

The Cubs split a series with the Dbacks; I really want to call them dirt bags. The Sox are 1-2. The Bears have been building an offseason roster that looks great on paper. The Blackhawks are still in the first phase of the rebuild apparently. The Bulls… are good again? Let’s not go too far. It’s been fun, the Bulls winning ways that is, although after an improbable win over the Lakers they can’t even beat the Mavs at home… the more things change, the more they stay the same. The same goes for my blog… we’re still here.

And the merry go round goes round and round; we never get off this ride, well, until we do. I’m sitting on the verge of my 14th wedding anniversary, my son’s 13th birthday, and the one year anniversary of my mother’s passing. Mix it all together and, bam, out spits life. It’s the best and worst of times all mixed together. Honestly, it’s a lot more good than bad, mostly; I really can’t complain. One thing we wish for as parents is to die before our kids; my Mom checked that box. I’m not sure I said this before, but… life… is the beautiful grind. I wouldn’t trade this ride for anything… blah blah blah.

Let’s keep this thing moving shall we. What was that one line from that one movie… life moves pretty fast around here; blink and you may miss it. Eyes wide open. Tomorrow is almost here.
