The big game is a few days away; who you got?
Everybody has their own idea of how this game will play out; everybody has what they believe is the game script in their head. Remember the whole conspiracy about game scripts in the NFL? I don’t know how big it actually got, how much run it got; I’m sure it was shut down pretty quickly. I don’t know how true it all is, but with billions of dollars at stake… mum is the word; the NFL is untouchable. You think, there’s no way the league can script the results in each and every game; I would agree. However, an overarching “script” of how they would like the season to play out??? Sure. More detailed “scripts” about the big games throughout the season? I could see that. And for the biggest game of them all, with 2 weeks to prepare… you betcha.
Speaking about bets; I have zero bets on the Super Bowl at this moment. Is that crazy or what? I’ve just started zoning in on the game, the props, etc; I will definitely have a few bets on the game. I’ll probably choose a couple props; I’ll ask my wife and son to do the same… add a little extra juice to the game; we all know how that is. But I didn’t jump on the game immediately, like I did last year when the SF KC line came out. I was all over the Niners. A big component that pushed me this way was the revenge factor. These two teams had just met recently in the Super Bowl with the Chiefs coming out victorious; surely the Niners would have the extra motivation for this one, although in the BIG game… is that really that much of a factor? Who can’t get up for this one? Fast forward to this year and the same scenario presents itself. The Eagles and Chiefs met in the SB a couple years ago; the Chiefs won. Eagles turn? I guess I’m trying to learn from my mistakes.
I want to bet on the Eagles; I really do think they’re the better team. Plus, I am so sick of the Chiefs. In a game like this, I’d prefer my bet line up with who I want to win, but… maybe it’s time to change that up. Plus, if I bet on the Chiefs and they lose, I’ll still be happy… sort of. So many different angles to run through, but the big one for me is Kansas City turning in the first Super Bowl three peat in NFL history; you’re going to tell me the NFL wouldn’t want that?
To bet against the Chiefs essentially means you’re betting against the NFL. To do this is not a smart way to go about your business. The NFL doesn’t lose. I do know one thing; this game will be entertaining. After all, isn’t this what we’re watching for… are you not entertained? The NFL does not come up short in that area, especially in the super duper bowl; OT last year was especially juicy. Besides the Bucs blow out of the Chiefs (go figure… guess nobody trumps Brady), the point differential the last 8 years has been… 3, 3, 3, 22 (the bucs vs chiefs game), 11, 10, 8, 6 (an all time comeback/OT thriller)… We will be entertained, and that’s the bottom line, because the NFL says so.
