Why the hell did I break down and buy an antenna? To watch my teams play of course, which is exactly what I settled down with the family to do on this Wednesday evening. You know what I watched? A joke. The Chicago Bulls are a flat out joke, and nobody gives a shit.
I’m so sick of this Bulls team. I was saving myself a lot of stress by not watching them, while the “Chicago First” network refused to work out a deal with Comcast. But, being the die hard I am, I had to watch them, no matter how bad they are. Went to Target, bit the bullet on the $20, and setup the antenna on one of our TVs… for this!?!? This team is pathetic. Sure, I made a small wager on them last night, earlier in the day, because I thought they might have a little pride playing against these Hawks considering what they did to the Bulls the last time we played, you know, the day after Christmas historic 4th quarter comeback. Ha! Pride? What’s that? This team has none of that. Furthermore, as the day went on, multiple Atlanta Hawks players were announced out, including 3 of their starters!!! OK, I’m feeling a little better now. Couple the pride, which they clearly don’t have, with the fact that the Hawks are down half their damn team… this should be good; how stupid was I. The Bulls got their asses kicked on their home court by a G league team. Let that sink in, and then you tell me why Billy Donovan is still here; you tell me why we shouldn’t get rid of this whole damn team.
We already know they play no defense. They’re lazy. The turnovers this night… my God, my son’s 7th grade basketball team would never. Zach grabbing a ball going out of bounds before it hits out of bounds. I think it was Vooch with an errant pass to Coby White as he was about to bring the ball up the court. I could go on. The worst though… a missed free throw by the Hawks that hit the front rim… it bounced… BOUNCED… right back to the shooter who laid it in; there were 3 Bulls players in the lane!!! Even my son knows to box out the shooter. Box out? That might as well be a foreign language to this team. At that very moment, I would have taken all the starters out, and played our 2nd string the rest of the night. Make a point. This is not acceptable, yet, we continue to live with it.
19-21 two seasons ago. 18-22 last season. 18-22 this season before losing this one. It’s the same old shit, over and over, and over. All the hard work MJ and the 90s Bulls did to make this franchise respectable… the hard nosed Thibs’ teams with Rose and Noah who kept this going… it’s all going down the tubes. You see the attendance in this one? Forget about tickets sold, butts in seats… it was sad. Maybe this is what needs to happen.
I told my wife we’re not going to any more games. The last time we went to the UC, a similar thing happened; no Giannis, no Lilliard, and the Bulls still lost by 30. Shit, we even followed them to DC to watch them play the pathetic ass Wizards, and they got their asses kicked. I’m done paying for this garbage. Yeah, we have some tickets that we bought for a game in March, but I’m done. Something has got to give.
I feel bad for us, the die hard Bulls fans who grew up with MJ. I feel bad for Stacey and Adam, having to bite their tongue, and try to keep things on the up and up with this trash ass team. How Donovan is still here is beyond me. Why nobody wants Zach is 100% understandable. Get rid of everybody; I don’t care. We need to hit the reset button, a hard reboot. This proud franchise, which is still going strong because of how great MJ was, is now a laughing stock, losing to a G League team. Can I get an amen?
