If there was ever a day I would not have got up off the couch, it would have been Friday. Don’t get me wrong; every day could be a couch day, but after the Christmas 1-2 punch, after a casino night, with 5 bowl games on tap, if it were up to me, the only thing that would have got me off the couch all day is to eat and go to the bathroom. I would not have moved. It didn’t go quite like that; I would have to wait a day… because I was at work! Yes, besides the Eve, I only took off the last week of the year. So yeah, my last day at work…
It wasn’t that bad; it wasn’t supposed to be that bad. It was supposed to be a blow off day, but nooooo…. this that and the other filled up my day, as I limped towards the finish line. It will all be over soon. Turn on the out of office email replies and I’m outta here! NOW it’s time to relax…
I was able to fit in a little wagering on this busy day. I applied a new strategy… I liked some of the doggies in the Bowl Games, so I took the points AND added a half play on the ML in each case. My new strategy worked liked a charm on this 27th of December. I was on Navy. I was following that one on the phone. The game appeared over when Oklahoma scores a TD with seconds remaining; wtf!?!? I was waiting for my phone to update with the extra point, which would have tied the game, and sent it to OT; it never updated with that point. The next update I saw was the missed 2 point conversion; hell yeah!!! Navy came through for me again. Good start. Next up was Vanderbilt, which had been a great team during the year, especially ATS. Taking the points plus the ML worked to perfection again. They beat Georgia Tech by 8 points. We are rolling. Finally, the last underdog I was riding… the USC Trojans; I know my wife couldn’t believe it. I don’t like USC, but… I like any team that I am betting on, so… I wasn’t able to stay up to see the end of this game, but when I got up, I saw the good news; boo ya!
An undefeated day? Not quite. My 2 NHL plays, which had been hitting, came up short, but still… a profitable day. It’d be nice to string some of those together let me tell you. Actually, as we head towards the end of the year, I’ve had more winners than losers; now that’s a trend I can get behind in 2025. I’ve been settling in to the NHL, NBA, and College Basketball; the Bowl Games have been pretty good. As long as I stay away from the NFL, I’ll be good; that’s a tough ask… haha. Now, back to your regularly scheduled fantasy football finals update.
