OK. I’ve placed some NFL future bets. I hesitated because my future bets have done so bad thus far, as well as, didn’t want to limit my bankroll for short term plays, especially with college and pro football kicking off, but… F it. Here we go… adding long plays.
Here is the list of future bets I’ve lost: Coby White MIP… bullshit that Maxey got that award. Wemby DPOY… bullshit that Gobert won that again; anybody disagree with that? Obviously the voters did… idiots. Lost on the White Sox over win total; talk about a horrible bet… haha. This was a historically bad bet; one that I will always remember. Over home run totals for Kris Bryant and Luis Robert; I believe they’ve combined for more time out of the lineup than in the lineup. Mathematically, I’m still alive with these two, but… it’s only a matter of time; miracles happen, but… not in this case. I lost on the Dallas Stars future bet; I lost on the Western Conference winning the Cup bet. I think that was it. Oh yeah, Pirates to make the playoffs; ain’t going to happen. I placed a lot of these when the bankroll was flush, figuring to diversify a bit, but… what a bust… thus far. So I’m due right? Haha… I don’t think there is such a thing.
I’ve talked about how bad I think the Patriots will be, and although I did NOT pull the trigger on under their win total, I did bet on them being the last winless team in the NFL. Go ahead, look at their schedule. If they don’t beat the Seahawks in Week 2, I’m confident I will win this bet. I got it at +450. I also played kind of a quirky one… I had a boost on an NFL team special, so I was looking around… and I do like the Titans this year. Again, didn’t bet their win total or to make the playoffs thus far, but I did take a flier on a Titans team special. The Titans to have at least 1 passing TD in each game this season; maybe week 1 will be their biggest test? I hope so. But I think Levis will be good; hoping he’ll cash this one for me. With the boost, +1729 on this one; that would be nice. Then I looked at some of the division winner odds, and lined that up with my preseason picks… as if they’re usually any good… haha. But the Eagles at -125 to win the NFC East… man, I had to take that one. The Eagles were well on their way last year before the wheels fell off. Their offense should be just fine, and with Fangio at DC, their defense should be better; it can’t be much worse. Looking at the other teams in the division… not a fan of the Boys, and then the G-Men and Commanders… I locked it in. The other one was the Miami Dolphins at +205. This was another team that had the division locked up, until they didn’t. I don’t think the Bills will be as much as a threat this year; the Jets are the unknown, but… I’m taking the Fins. I have them going to the Super Bowl, and the only way to get there is by winning the division IMO, so…
OK, so 4 future bets thus far. Still have a week plus to lock some more; we’ll see how my short term bets go in the meantime. There are some others that I’m pondering related to the Steelers doing bad and the Titans doing well. We’ll see. Good luck to us all!
