May 15, 2015: SOS

posted in: Bulls | 2

I looked at the clock.  It was the 4th quarter, and the Bulls just called a timeout.  They were down by 20 points.  The clock showed 9:11.

It was slowly sinking in that this season was coming to an end.  There was no last gasp comeback.  There was nobody putting on the superman cape and bringing us back in this one.  The season that started off with such high expectations has ended the same way.  It’s the SOS for the Bulls against their nemesis LBJ.

I thought of some other titles for this one.  Disappointment.  Painful.  I thought about the Thibs mantra DO YOUR JOB.  I should have just turned off the TV after the game, but of course, being the glutton for punishment, I turned to the postgame, and had that on in the background as I tried to stay busy.  Who knows?  That was the answer that Derrick Rose gave to why this happened.  Who does know?

The head coach is supposed to have all the answers.  Yet, at the end of the day, it’s a players league.  They’re the ones on the court.  They’re the ones that have to execute.  The blame game will eventually cause the end of Thibs here in Chicago.  That is upsetting.  I guess making the playoffs every year doesn’t matter any more.  There is always a greater expectation that sits on our teams, especially the Bulls, having achieved such greatness in the past.  There is always that desire to experience that again.  In that regards, the Bulls have come up short.  So is it Thibs to blame?

Including aphrodisiacs tadalafil purchase is among the important enhancement tips to follow. This viagra on line ordering relaxes the mind and lets one fall asleep. The medicines made from ginseng do not have any side-effects, so you can stay assured that the amount of the plant product is not more than some months will be got, no side effect it has, like food we eat, viagra no doctor definitely green and safe, the name of the medicine is Fuyan Pill. Besides the blame game, we can look for excuses.  How about the fact that the starting lineup of the Bulls played less than a third of the season together?  Just because you have a lot of great pieces doesn’t mean they will all fit perfectly together, at least not at first.  How about the injuries?  This hurt us again this year too.  Gasol missing games in the playoffs.  Noah being not the same player after knee surgery.  Rose playing his first almost full season in years.  The bench failed us miserablely when it mattered most.  They flashed that graphic on Brooks and Mirotic.  Brutal.  That could have been another title for this blog too.

As a fan, it’s major disappointment.  You know, you put your heart into these teams and expect the world.  When it doesn’t happen, your heart takes a hit.  Similarly to the Bears season, it’s worse because of the expectations.  It’s worse because you know this team could have been great.  I guess that’s worse than having a horrible team… maybe not.  It’s worse because of who we lost to.

Lebron, the owner of the biggest Hate File in my heart, is now 4-0 against the Bulls in the playoffs.  All the comparisions to Michael… it’s like blasphemy to me.  Yet, he IS the best player in the league right now, so for that reason alone, he can be compared.  The reality is we can’t beat him.  We can’t beat his teams when it counts, and that really sucks.  Who hurt us last night?  Some Australian point guard, some Kid n Play reject, and a cast of characters that serve as role players.  Love has been out the whole series.  Irving was out yesterday.  It was Lebron and his cronies, and they kicked our ass.

Thankfully, we now turn to the Blackhawks to erase this pain… to cheer us up… to carry that Chicago flag once more.  What will happen to the Bulls going forward?  I guess we can talk about that in a future blog, or at least, what I’d like to see happen.  Until then, let’s try to forget about basketball for a minute.  Let’s try to forget about the disappointment.  I won’t be watching the NBA playoffs from here on out…. unless it’s the game where LBJ and Cleveland will be eliminated.  I’ll tune in for that, except the fact that we couldn’t do that… again… will come back to my mind, and I’ll get sick to my stomach again.  This sucks.

blame? how ’bout everybody on the floor?! i, unfortunately, watched most of the game. there was no heart, no effort, no desire, no gadda wanna. looked like the cavs were playing against the walking dead. there were spurts, but no sustained effort on either end of the court. going thru it player-by-player would give me carpal tunnel. the best part of the game was the inadvertent clothes-line that mirotic brought out of the bag.

Bulls had a heck of a season. Pau meshed into the fold nicely, Jimmy emerged as a leader, Taj proved that he is a forced to be wreaking with. Rose showed once again that he is a top 5 player and Noah remained the beast that he is. Snell and Mirotic stepped up in various ways. Dunleavy is your 3pt threat. Hell, we got more out of Brooks than I expected.

Only piece that was missing was the attitude, swagger…a reason, a fight? Thibs did everything he could with the players he had at the time. I hate to admit it, but an LBJ is a rare player that comes around once a generation. We were spoiled with MJ for years and now we have been at both ends of the stick.

I can’t blame Thibs much less the team…LBJ just BEAT you, plain and simple. Take him off Cleveland and they don’t make the playoffs.

I hope the players, coaches, and front office see this and adjust for next season. LBJ is hear and in the eastern conference, which means all roads go though him…better adjust or die!
