January 8, 2024: The Hate Files LXI

Let’s kick off the year on the right foot. Last year was pathetic; we only had 4 Hate Files all year long?!?! Am I getting soft in my old age??? Shit, the year before we only had 6 of them, and only 2 in 2021!!! I’m definitely slacking on the hate. Sure, the hate still flows, but do I just keep posting file after file about the Packers, Cardinals, and LeBron??? Well, coming out of the Bears Packers debacle on Sunday in Lambeau, there was some strong feelings stirred up, and although the Packers certainly had something to do with that, we’re heading a different direction today.

I could have wrote a Hate File about this guy years ago. Yes, this guy cost me my Fantasy Football championship. I was favored in my matchup, and would have won if this guy had just an average week. Instead, he gets hurt during the first series, and I lose… barely. F this guy. I vowed then to never draft him again, and I haven’t, and now… he’s back involved with the game. Luckily maybe, since the Bears are so bad, we haven’t heard him too much… but I heard him yesterday, and let me tell you… once is enough. Yes, it’s official now: I hate Tony Romo!

I’m sure the NFL and CBS love him though. “Let’s give Tony some talking points for this game, because we know he will deliver to a tee. He’s such a go getter, he’ll go above and beyond. We love this guy!” I’m pretty sure the #1 talking point, and really the only one he focused on, was “Hype up Jordan Love”. Tony Romo delivered an epic ball-sucking performance. Wow! I was stunned. After Jordan Love found an open WR, a trend on the day btw, Tony talked about his ceiling. It went something like this… “When I see Love make throws like this, man… it makes me think about how great this guy can be”… Tony, I could have made that throw it was so wide open. Holy shit. Take it easy my man… work it a bit before you explode all over the TV. Then he started with the Rodgers and Favre comparisons… wow. Whatever you’re smoking Tony, please pass it this way. Comparing Jordan Love to Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers??? I’d have to think even Packer fans would call bullshit on that. But not Tony… no way… this IS happening. We ARE christening Love the next coming on my watch dammit! He is the next best QB in the league. Hey, Love played OK in the game… sure, two of those wide open throws made up for almost 1/3 of his total passing yards, but… they won… enough said. He did enough, but to fit him for a HOF jacket?!?! Only Tony could do that.

He didn’t stop with just Love. He went as far as saying LaFleur should be coach of the year; excuse me? Yes, and we heard over and over how this is the youngest team in the NFL, and if the Packers win they’ll be the youngest team in the playoffs since whenever… Tony couldn’t get enough Packer juice. He was double fisting it, like skiing on a fast downhill slope. And when something happened that didn’t go with the Packer/Love agenda, Tony ignored it. Like that one pass attempt by Fields, Romo described the Packer coverage as “sticky”… huh? Maybe that’s how he’d describe his pants after this effort, but in the defensive secondary… that’s called pass interference and/or illegal contact. You know, normally the flags are flying a plenty in support of the Cheese in Lambeau, but in this one… no flags?!?! So that’s why no Bears WRs were open? That’s why we couldn’t get to Love more? Who knows, but I wish the Bears would have got that same memo.

Tony, Tony, Tony… he did it again, and I thought Collinsworth was bad. Romo is shooting for that job huh? Tony is willing to do the dirty work to praise these guys. What he did to Love in this game was nothing short of an all-time stroke off. First, he screws me in Fantasy Football, and now, he wants to screw, literally, the QB of the team I hate the most… It was written. I hate you Romo, but sure looks like you have a bright career ahead of you in the NFL broadcasting world. Can’t wait to hear who your next target is… actually, I wouldn’t care if I never heard you talk again… what a clown. F off Tony.
