It’s playoff time! No, we’re not talking about the Bears… yet… haha. I’m talking about Fantasy Football of course. The regular season concluded in all 3 of my leagues, and the results are in…
Let’s start with the “easiest” league, the family league. I only say easiest because there are only 8 teams, so much more talent to spread around, which makes it a lot easier to recover from injuries and poor performance from the guys you drafted. With a win in the final week, I sprung into the #2 position; I am rewarded with a bye week for that accomplishment. My 11 year old son punched his playoff ticket again, and will be on the other side of the bracket from me… a father-son championship matchup is possible. I feel pretty good about my squad, but looking at the other playoff teams… they have just as much talent. I’ll have to zero in a bit more on matchups before I get into the playoffs after my bye week.
I’ve also made the playoffs in my auction league… barely. I needed to secure my #5 position with a win, and thanks to Tua’s egg on MNF, it happened; it was touch and go for a while. Actually thought I would need some help from the #1 seed, but he lost (thanks Robby); thankfully I didn’t need it, and unfortunately for the #1 seed, his loss dropped him down to #2, so he lost out on some money as regular season champ; he did have most points overall, so he’s still got something coming. I actually ended up with the 2nd most points in that league. Feel really good about my team. Josh Allen, Deebo, AJ Brown, Sutton, Kamara, Pollard are locks in my lineup. I have flex options. My tight end has been my weak link all year; currently I have Likely from the Ravens in there. If I get through the first week, I will play the new #1 next week.
In my keeper league, I needed a win to get in as well, but I wasn’t as lucky. I was very disappointed in how that season turned out; I understand how it happened though. My keeper QB Justin Herbert was a complete let down, not only in the final week when he got injured and didn’t return, essentially sealing my fate, but really all year. To add to that debacle, I drafted Ekeler in the first round… my own double doink thanks to the shitty ass Chargers. I still can’t believe they haven’t won anything with the talent on that team. If there’s any coach that needs to be canned, it is theirs.
Two out of three ain’t bad. Obviously, I’d prefer to win my auction league, which comes with a cash reward, although bragging rights in the family league are priceless. I won the first year of that league, so adding a 2nd title to my name would put me on a pedestal… haha… although I know my son will be gunning for his first. There’s my quick fantasy update; you’re welcome.

You’re welcome! Glad I still got a bye, good luck in the first round!
