I have been enjoying the hell out of that first Bears win of the year, both this season and almost calendar year, last Thursday against the Commanders. Let me tell you… I’ve been soaking it in, every, single day, and will continue to do so until noon on Sunday. The Bears welcome the Vikings to Soldier Field this week. We’re either going to start a winning streak, or return back to the gutter; what say you?
Well, Papa Vegas has the Vikings as 3 point favorites; I think that’s right. I mean, the Bears are still shit; I don’t think we’ve earned any national respect with a win over Washington on the day Dick Butkus died. We clutched up, no doubt, and for that, I’m proud, but on a national level… no respect, and you know what? That’s perfectly fine with me. You see, the Vikings aren’t that good either, and, and… their best player will be in street clothes on the sideline. Kirk Cousins without Justin Jefferson… I like my chances. Something else to note is that the Bears will be getting healthier. Sure, our RB situation is not good, but the way we use/don’t use the RB… it won’t matter that much anyways. More importantly, our defense will be healthier; our secondary will almost be all the way back. This is very important to note; this has been a big reason why we couldn’t stop anybody. If there was any strength on our defense heading into this year, I would have leaned starting secondary; when almost all of them went down to injury, well, you see the results. Now, we’re almost 100% healthy going against a Jefferson-less Vikes squad led by a QB who from what I’m reading is one foot out the door… this is all you really need to know.
Winning division games at home are one of the most important things all season long. We’re 0-1 thus far. The Vikings present us a chance to even up in that category, and start a winning streak; what’s that? I thought this one Bears win was going to carry us for another month or so? Haha… Come on boys. This is a winnable game; actually, looking at the schedule ahead, there are a number of winnable games. Raiders, Panthers, Falcons, Cardinals… We should be putting the 0-4 start behind us; we should be using our first W as a springboard. We should stop talking about next year’s draft and focus on learning how to win. There is no better time than right now to pass another test.
Final Score Prediction: Bears 27 Vikings 17
Ace in the Hole: Bears defense (yeah, really) 3 sacks, 2 takeaways, setting us up with good field position all day long
I took that Bears win hook, line, and sinker. I hadn’t thrown in the towel on the season to begin with… all I needed was a little spark to be back to thinking positive about this season. Don’t make me look stupid, again, Bears. Come out this Sunday in front of the home crowd, play with passion, kick some ass, and beat this division foe. Bear Down!!!
