Yes, I’m planning on sitting my ass on the couch to watch the Bears again this week. At 0-3, I believe that eventually this exercise will end with a Bears win; will this be the week the Bears finally show us something? Well, it really can’t get worse than it already is, but I keep saying that… it can get worse; every loss we stack will make it worse and worse until we are resigned to our fate of flipping to tank mode to make our #1 draft pick as high as possible. Certainly too early for all of that, but there may come a point…
To tell you how bad things are for our boys right now… The Broncos, who are winless themselves, just got historically pasted by 50 points this past week in Miami; 70-20 was that final score. Good news: that was worse than the Bears embarrassing defeat this past weekend in Kansas City. Bad news: Denver is STILL favored over the Bears in Soldier Field by 3.5 points. Any questions?
The one thing I can 100% guarantee you is that out of the 4 winless teams in the NFL, 2 of them will get their first victory this weekend. The Bears-Broncos & Vikings-Panthers games feature all 4 winless teams; that’s kind of crazy. Although wouldn’t 2 tie games be the most appropriate outcome? The good news is that the Bears own both theirs and the Panthers’ #1 pick next year; those 2 picks may be pretty valuable when it’s all said and done, but… I hate to talk draft picks during Week 4 of the season, yet… I need to find some silver lining. All of this Bears losing really sucks. I thought we were done with this; I thought we left that behind last season. Well, it’s been more of the same this season, and it’s really depressing.
Who’s to blame? Everybody. I can give you reasons to blame every single person within this Bears organization, and probably would be right in most cases. When you lose in the NFL, blame is required; when you lose 3 games to start the season, it’s fire everybody time. This is where we are in this portion of the Bears schedule. Losing at home to another winless team??? Well, let’s just say if you don’t like it when fans boo their own team, I’d change the channel if the Bears start losing Sunday. Personally, I support my team through thick and thin, however, that doesn’t mean I can’t boo them; I agree with the booing, partially because when we suck, and when the effort appears low due to that fact, I start to feel like I care more about the Bears winning then the actual team does. When I reach that point in my brain, then yes, the boos are justified IMO. Is it true? Do fans really care more about the outcome of a game than the players playing in it? I think it’s a split proposition; it should be 100% the players… unfortunately, I don’t think that’s the case. Maybe the Bears will start winning, and actually win a game this weekend, and avoid the boo birds… for at least another week.

Yes, I’m picking against the Bears. If they happen to win this week, I will continue to pick against them every week, taking full advantage of reverse psychology. If they do lose, well, I’m not sure what else I can do. I know one thing I will continue to do, and that is watching these suckers play every week. When will the Bears be good again? Bear Down.
