Fresh off predicting a 4-4 first half of the season for Da Bears, let’s look ahead at the second half. We’re already better than last year, but the big question is… are we playoff bound???
Week 9 at NO: WIN 42-35
A shootout in the Bayou! The Bears create another good memory in New Orleans winning a back and forth, exciting, offensive outburst of a game. But what happened to our defense? Let’s worry about that another day, and enjoy the W… and our offense who at least for one game, really came into their own.
Week 10 vs CAR: WIN 21-13
OK, see… there’s our defense. Sure, it’s a rookie QB, but hey… the stats still count, and although the offense looked pedestrian, with the D’s stellar play, did more than enough for the W. Now, at 6-4, the Bears start a stretch of 3 consecutive division games; gut check time boys!
Week 11 at DET: LOSS 27-17
Well, we didn’t think it was going to be easy, did we? The Lions, who earned this guy’s respect knocking out the Pack last year in a game that meant nothing for them, continue to play well, and maintain the division lead, knocking the Bears down a notch; payback in Chicago coming???
Week 12 at MIN: WIN 24-16
Hmmm… prime time game, at night, in Minnesota… ring any bells? Sure, it’s not Thursday night, but in a Monday night affair against Cousins and crew, the Bears get back at Minny for the earlier loss, and find a way to win a BIG game. Maybe this Bears team is going places?
Week 13: BYE WEEK
Feels like a pretty good time for the bye week to be honest. Breaking up a stretch of division games, and setting us up for the homestretch of the season. 7-5 so far… how many more wins to get in the playoffs?
Week 14 vs DET: LOSS 21-18
Say it ain’t so… getting swept by the Lions pretty much dashes our chances at winning the division. The Lions? Yes, the Lions are in the driver’s seat, and the Bears, well… while we’re licking our wounds, we’ll remember that at 7-6, and 4 games to play, we still have a shot at the postseason…
Week 15 at CLE: LOSS 26-19
This doesn’t feel good; back to 500? Like I said, you didn’t think this was going to be easy, did you???
Week 16 vs ARI: WIN 38-20
Well, the schedule turns favorable late in the year, with a visit from Arizona. We get a break from playing a halfway decent team. The Cardinals are in full tank mode, and we thank you very much!
Week 17 vs ATL: WIN 24-15
Back to back games against bad teams. The Falcons are a notch better than the Cards, but still not a playoff team. This Bears team??? Well, after these two wins, we sit at 9-7 with one game to play… against none other than…
Week 18 at GB: WIN 21-20
The Bears put their stamp on the 2023 season with a W in Green Bay, which makes it a series sweep against them. When’s the last time we could have said that? Yes, we started and ended the year with wins over our hated rival, and that my frents, is enough to get into the postseason. Who’s with me?
10-7 again huh? I predicted that last year, and was miserably wrong. Not sure how close I’ll be this year, but I do know one thing, for sure; I’ll be closer this year than last. The Bears WILL be a much improved team; how much improved? Can’t wait to find out. How many days until Week 1??? Bear Down!!!
