Ding dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead, the witch is dead, ding dong the witch is dead today. When my buddy sent me A Wizard of Oz pic yesterday, I thought Virginia McCaskey had passed… I was like, that ain’t cool; that’s George Halas’ daughter man… Well, I was wrong. Virginia is still alive and kicking. The witch that he was referring to was of course Aaron Rodgers; he was officially traded to the Jets on Monday afternoon.
Let me start off by saying I didn’t care if he stood or left Green Bay. If I had my preference, I wanted him to stay, so the Bears could beat his ass. However, now that he is gone… I told my son; his response was “Alexa, play Hit the Road Jack”… and we danced around the kitchen. Good riddance to that bastard, and welcome to reality Green Bay; there will finally be a non-Hall of Fame QB at the helm for the Cheeseheads. Finally!
You know how long I’ve been waiting for this day? I could go back and pull up many blogs where I thought the tide was turning; well, the tide has officially turned. Yes, not sure how good the Bears will be THIS year, but to know that the Packers will not have a HOF QB, is enough to know, that things will finally be different. You know how well the Bears have done vs the Packers in the Favre & Rodgers eras right? I’ve written about this in detail; let me just give you the cliff notes: NOT GOOD. You know how well the Bears have done when there was a non-HOF QB taking snaps in Green Bay? Good enough to be only 10 games behind on the all-time head to head matchup after 30 years of terror. So… I like our chances.
How good will this new guy be? Jordan Love may be OK; there’s no way he’ll be HOF good right? There has never been a franchise in NFL history that has had back to back to back HOF QBs. Again, I like our chances. From the little I’ve seen from him, I’m not worried. In fact, I’m not worried about the Packers period, from here on out. Too much? I don’t think so. It’s hard to express how happy I am right now.
And yes, the Bears still have to take care of their business; they still have to deal with the other teams in the division, including the division favorite Lions? We know their history. We also know ours: only 1 Super Bowl; that’s just not good enough. The Packers have severely underachieved in that same timeframe, only winning 1 more than us, with 2 HOF QBs… and yes, Rodgers has the same number of NFC Championship wins as Rex Grossman, but… we need to worry about OUR business; there is plenty to worry about there. We’ll have plenty of time to talk about that, but today… let us rejoice!!!
Ding dong Aaron Rodgers is dead. Yes, I know he is still playing, following the steps of Favre, heading to the Big Apple to play with the Jets; it worked out well for him… Not worried, don’t care. He’s gone from the Packers, but I still hate them, and this is why I’m so happy for them; welcome to reality! And Aaron… for such a “great” QB, so much drama, and only 1 SB… good luck. Bye bitch!
