How did everybody like the wild weekend in the NFL? I enjoyed it, for the most part. Rolling with my bonus bets on Draft Kings throughout, it was fun; not too much stress… until I start having to use my own money… but all good. There were some pretty good games.
It started off great with the Niners running away from the Seahawks on Saturday in the first tilt; I was on the right side of that one. Is Purdy going to be able to keep this up? I guess that’s the big question, and may determine the NFC Champion. The Seahawks aren’t exactly awesome, but they were a division foe; they were a surprising team, lead by Geno Smith. They do have sneaky Pete as coach. It was a nice win for San Fran. The other Saturday game was, um, nuts. Yes, I was on the Chargers, and yes, I’m glad I didn’t stay up to watch that BS. I saw it was 27-0; felt pretty good. The last I saw it was 30-14 I think. The next thing I saw was at about 130 in the morning, when I saw a bunch of texts about the crazy ass comeback. I was surprised to say the least, not necessarily about the Chargers blowing it, but the Jags doing it. Will Trevor Lawrence be able to parlay his one half of magic into a victory (or at least a cover) against the Chiefs next week in Arrowhead???
Sunday was a full slate; again, started off well for me. I wasn’t quite in love with the points, so I parlayed the Bills and Bengals on the ML. Thankfully, the Bills held on to win a close one, which was a big win for Vegas I’m guessing; does Papa ever really lose? Shocked that the Dolphins, without Tua, had a chance to win this game. Wasn’t convinced it would be a blowout, but… this close? The NFL sure is good at scripting these close games… Then the Vikings, my favorite play of the week for some damn reason; how did I trust buster-ass Cousins and the choking-ass Vikes? That’s what I get; can’t really be that mad about seeing Minny dispatched. The last play was absolutely inexcusable. Then the Bengals… could have been in a lot of trouble if it weren’t for that 98/99 yard fumble return for a TD, but they held on; they didn’t cover, but that was OK. They completed the parlay for me. The Bills Bengals will be the game of the week next week; winner may be the Super Bowl champ.
Finally, the Monday nighter… isn’t it great to see Brady get his ass kicked? Haha… Yeah, I was on the Cowboys thankfully; the last time I will be rooting for them. This one wasn’t close, and Brady didn’t really ever make a dent with a decent comeback like everyone thought. Are the Cowboys this good, or were the Bucs just this bad? I’ll go with the latter.
The Divisional Round is set. Chiefs Jags, Bills Bengals, Giants Eagles, and 49ers Cowboys; not too shabby. Only a couple bonus bets left; will I trust any of these with MY money? Maybe, or maybe I’ll just watch and enjoy (doubtful). We’ll do a little preview of these games soon. Regardless, just remember, the NFL is king… no end in sight, regardless of the scripting. Hoping the Bears are part of that “script” next year…
