October 22, 2022: Week 7 at Patriots

posted in: Bears | 0

Ok, a day late with the Bears Preview this week, but they are playing a day late, so… makes sense. At least I didn’t wait until the very last possible minute to write this, kind of like how Velus Jones waited until the 4th quarter to screw us last week; Ok, cheap shot… sorry not sorry, but if I see him returning another punt, I may turn off the TV right then and there. At least I don’t have to see that other WR in a Bears uniform any more… a week too late, but OK. As far as our opponent this week, I do have to give them a little credit; at least their team name, the Patriots, makes sense, unlike our lucky ass opponent last week the Commanders… OK, let’s move on.

Let’s talk about Papa Vegas and those 8.5 points they’re giving us in this one. It’s probably exactly right; the Patriots may even blow us out, but why do I feel like it’s too many points? Why do I feel like the Bears actually have a chance to win this one? Yeah, that’s just me again… Mr. Optimistic… I was talking with my family the other day, talking about how I still keep hope alive for this team; they asked how long does that work. I told them, it works until it doesn’t… 7 wins this year boys, 7 wins… that’s all I’m asking for. Since we let one slip completely through our fingers last week, maybe this is the one that falls in our laps? I don’t care how it happens, just give me a fricking W…

It sounds like Mac Jones will be returning for this tilt; that may actually be a good thing? This Zappe dude lead them to a 2-1 record, including a 300 yards performance last week vs Cleveland. Mac did throw for 300 his last game before the injury. Over under 300 passing yards whichever QB New England runs out there??? Considering the Bears run defense, and although it was better last week, maybe Belicheat just calls 50 runs this week; we’ve seen it before. He might try to do some crazy shit like that showing everybody how smart he is as he attempts to pass Papa Bear and move into #2 on the all-time coaching wins in the NFL. We have to be ready for anything… flea flickers, fake punts… he’ll pull out all the stops; I’m supposed to be making myself feel better about this game, not worse…

Final Score Prediction: Bears 31 Patriots 28

Ace in the Hole: Justin Fields 300+ passing yards

I don’t care what you think about me; let’s just get that straight… haha. Yeah, I’m picking them to win, again; I’m picking Fields to have a big game, again. I will say this about our opponent’s coach; he’s no dummy. He was very complimentary of our Bears this week, giving them zero bulletin board material, although what’s he really supposed to say… that we suck? We don’t suck, right? Let’s try not to suck… hey, that’s kind of catchy… haha. Let’s give us a GOOD surprise on prime time for a change. Let’s prevent Halas from being passed in the one game we actually have control over. Let’s win one for Papa Bear!!! Bear Down!!!
