Have you seen that graphic going around? The one that shows the teams with the most wins in NFL history… Yeah, I have. And oh yeah, the team with the most wins in NFL history is none other than our Chicago Bears. Take that NFL!
Of course, being around more than 100 years helps. There is no way any of these newbies are catching the Bears no matter how bad they are. The Texans at 139, Jaguars at 180, and Panthers at 205 make up the bottom 3. Yeah, at 783 the Bears sit light years ahead of those teams. Honestly, even the teams at 3, 4, and 5 are ways off. The Giants at 706, the Steelers at 652, and the Redskins/Commanders at 617, would need a pretty good run to catch us. Yep, there is only one other team that is close… actually 1 win away at 782… that could hold the #1 title… and that team is… the Packers.
F the Packers first off. OK, now we can proceed. I guess first thing that I think about is how bad they must have been when they DIDN’T have a HOF QB at the helm. All those years with Starr, Favre, and now Rodgers, and they’re STILL behind the Bears. The Bears only have a 1 year head start on them. They must have really sucked, so I looked a little deeper. Since 1992 to current, Favre or Rodgers has been on the roster; Bart Starr was on the roster from 1956 to 1971. So, let’s take a look at the years the Packers QB was not a Hall of Famer.
Before Bart came along, I was disappointed to find out, they still had a pretty good record. At 233-151-22 for the first 35 years of the franchise, the Packers were no slouch; I guess I knew that… was just hoping it turned up something different. From 1972 to 1991 had to be worse, right? Yeah buddy… 131-172-6 was the Packers record between Starr and Favre; those are the Packers that I remember. They sucked. Of course, yeah, they did have all those OTHER years when Starr, Favre, and Rodgers roamed the backfield; can’t forget about those… or can we??? Haha…
Morale of the story is, I guess, wait until the Packers don’t have a HOF QB; let’s see how good they are then. We’ll have to wait a few more years, now that the freshly tatted Aaron is back under center for the time being; honestly, I’d rather beat him anyways, then see him on another team… although I wouldn’t have complained too loudly. Yeah, the hope is, assuming the Packers will have a better record than us THIS year, we will stay neck and neck with them for the all-time victory title, although winning the next Super Bowl between the two franchises would be the sweetest.
Yeah, football season is right around the corner; always ready for that, especially considering how the Cubs will finish the year off. At least Sox fans still have a chance… The Hawks are already in the shitter; we still do have the Bulls though. But DA Bears… come on; they have to be better than the 6.5 win total that Vegas has them pegged for. I put $50 on them in Vegas that says they will. Show me the money!!! Bear Down… you franchise with the most wins in NFL history you…
