February 11, 2015: The Five

posted in: Bulls | 4

I’m so glad we took care of business last night.  The Kings have just been spared from the Hate Files… for now.

I really don’t like that team.  With Demarcus Thug Cousins leading the charge, this Kings team has given the Bulls fits, especially in Sacramento.  Then, even before him, the Kings made that huge 4th quarter comeback in the UC to beat us back in 2007.  I was “lucky” to be in attendance for that one… which is why it made my list for Worst Games.  To finally beat them, and beat them soundly, was very refreshing.  Not only because of the history here, but because the Bulls have struggled putting away teams like this all year, especially at home.

Pau Gasol had another huge game.  I don’t think you’ll find anyone who thinks the acquisition of Pau Gasol was a bad one.  The swing and miss on Carmelo, and consolation prize in Gasol, couldn’t have worked out better.  He’s been great.  He’s a beast offensively, and he’s been better than Boozer on defense…  He blocks a lot of shots, but has been dominated at times by other young centers.  Still, somebody that I always thought of as “soft”, has looked really good.  Yet, I wonder if that softness comes out at some point…  like crunch time… like playoffs…  Maybe I shouldn’t even be worried about this right now, but I’m of the belief that the Bulls have a real chance this year, and that means I have to worry about everything.

Maybe worry is a strong word, but I think about it.  I think about who the 5 players on the court should be come crunch time.  What do you think?  Give me the 5 Bulls that you want on the court in crunch time.  The game is on the line; who is on the court?  I see how Thibodeau has been trying different combinations throughout the game, including the 4th quarter, but what will he settle on?  Does he even know the answer to this question yet?  As you probably could guess, I do.

Derrick Rose.  Is he the same Rose from the MVP year?  Will he ever be?  Why would I want a sub-par defender, turnover machine with a bad FG% on the court when it counts?  For all the negative things you can say about him, and there are plenty of those, there is one truth… he’s not afraid of the moment.  He’s made clutch shots before.  He IS a former MVP.  He is one of the leaders on this team.  He needs to be on the court.

If a levitra samples you could try this out guy cannot get it up or keep it up to perform intercourse with your partner. Jimmy Butler.  Let’s hope the MRI on his shoulder comes back OK, but Buckets is on the floor.  He’s went from a defensive specialist to a jack of all trades… a complete maximum contract player.  Here’s the second guy on this court with Rose who could take that last shot… who can have the ball in his hands as the clock ticket down.  He can create his own shot, and/or kick it to someone wide open at the 3 point line just like Rose.  That guy at the 3 point line is…

Nikola Mirotic.  From what I’ve seen so far, this guy plays big in big moments too.  For some reason, he seems to be in the doghouse now.  Maybe Thibs is just trying different combinations like I mentioned above???  I like Niko Suave.  He’s that guy standing at the 3 point line waiting for the ball.  He could pump fake that shot, and drive and kick if need be too.  He’s also been playing better on defense.  Speaking of defense… you definitely need some of that when it counts.

Taj Gibson.  Surprised?  Who has been through the wars?  Who brings that hard hat and lunch pail to his job every day?  I know he hasn’t been that great this year, and I know he’s been the subject of trade rumors, but I feel we can rely on him when it counts.  HE is the guy that makes people think twice about driving to the rim.  He can hit an open shot, crash the boards, and slam down a big time dunk too.  I definitely don’t think we should trade him, unless of course we’re blown away… that leaves one more.

Joakim Noah.  Another guy who hasn’t been the best this year, recovering from his off season surgery, but I’m sorry… he IS the leader, and it sucks that he hasn’t been 100%, but he is our guy.  He is the defending defensive player of the year.  He is the final guy I want on the court when it counts.

I’m rolling with those five all day long.  Sorry Pau.  Nothing personal, and we need you at 100% to even get to that big moment… and we’ll need you at 100% to win it all… we just won’t need you on the court in that final moment.  So I’m sure there are some different opinions..  Let’s hear them.

If we have the lead, I’d trade Gasol for Mirotec in your choices. If we’re behind, then I trade Gasol for Noah. A better defender than Mirotec, and a better offensive option than Noah.

    Drose
    Buckets
    Noah
    Pau
    Kirk

Having niko, noah, and taj makes it hard to defend the sf and/or sg with one of them, which is why kirky has to be out there. He is a pesky defender and can hit shots if called upon. In my mind, paupau has to be out there. He protects the rim and rebounds like taj and is much better offensively. Plus, he has won it all before. He knows what it takes…let’s just hope that soft side doesn’t rear its weak head!
    GO BULLS!!!

Captain Kirk? Nice. Even though he’s looked old this year, you just know he’ll play big minutes at some point and hit a big shot if given the chance, like vs golden state.
