March 12th… hmmm… what’s that day? It’s something… I’m sure of it. Yeah, wait… my wife’s birthday?!?! I better not forget that day. Don’t worry; I had it all under control, except a last minute cake… haha. Part of the festivities included going to the Bulls game on her birthday against the Cavs on Saturday night at the UC; we’re back!!!
For the birthday, we stepped up in the ticket department. We’re definitely 300 level fans all the way, but for this special occasion, got some tickets in section 105; yeah, ballers! Haha… Got them for a decent price, much more than I normally would pay, but it’s all good. The only problem was that after the game my son asked if we could sit in this section from now on… pump the brakes buddy… This was only because it’s Mom’s birthday, although we are going on his birthday too, but sitting back in the 300 level… but hey, we’re buying an extra ticket for one of his friends to come too, so… OK back to the game.
Not only were we back in the UC, but Alex Caruso made his return to the court. He got a very nice ovation as he entered the game in the first quarter. You could tell a difference already with him being back on the court. Sure, the Cavs were down a couple guys, but the defensive effort was outstanding; Caruso had 4 steals. He was also not shy about taking it to the rim, throwing his body around again; stay healthy AC. The Cavs didn’t have a whole lot going on, other than Darius Garland; that dude is good. I was talking a little crap after he got his shot blocked for the 2nd time going to the hole, but that didn’t stop him; he’s super quick, and crafty. Cleveland has got a good player there, but not good enough to carry his team to a W in this one. No way the Bulls were going to lose on my wife’s birthday, especially with us in the house. 2 for 2 for the year on Bulls games in person!
After the game, Caruso was doing a post game interview; my son wanted to run down to the player’s tunnel to see him leave. He made his way through the crowd and squeezed right up against the railing. I got a nice snap of the back of his head and Caruso leaving the game. It was a lot of fun, including the fact that Benny did his big popcorn toss in the section right next to ours; he even threw a handful at my son before the big dump.. very cool.
Next up for the Bulls, heading to the West Coast for a late night game with the Sacramento Kings on Monday night. Staying up late to watch my shows lately should help me stay up to watch this entire game; we’ll see. Up next on the personal side of business is my anniversary and my son’s birthday, all within the next few weeks; yeah, it’s an expensive time of the year. It’s all worth it though. Happy Birthday Babe!
